Rack Arm

Highly versatile, our rack arm system can be internal or external. It is visually impactful and adds architectural detail by enhancing glass buildings and glazed roof spaces.

Application

The main benefit of our attractive rack arm system is that you can gain exact control of light levels giving flexible interior climatic choices by tilting the louvres. This type of system is flexible in that it can be shaped and sloping. It suits any type of building and is virtually maintenance free.

Style

Rack Arm slats come in two different widths, 50mm and 80mm and can be formed out of wood (internal only) or aluminium. There is a choice of wood from our sustainable wood selection as well as bespoke colour matching if the slats are painted. If you require aluminium slats which can be used internally and externally, there is also a wide choice of finishes to choose from.

The system can be further customised with a choice of colours for the actual rack arm to which the slats are attached. This means that it can be colour matched to the glazing mullions.

Operation

  • Rack arm is operated via one or more gear boxes which are operated by a detachable crank arm allows tilting of the louvres
  • Alternatively, they can be motorised with a choice of operating systems
    • Remote control
    • Simple wall switch
    • Integration into a home audio visual system such as Lutron or an entire building management system
  • This allows for installation where blind access may be awkward, extremely large windows or just for ease of use
  • The motor is housed discreetly alongside one of the racks
  • Where appropriate, we can incorporate Solar, Light Sensitive, Temperature, Wind and Time control systems
This gives a fully automatic system reducing heat gain before the internal space warms up
